ABOUT
Super Mario World was released alongside the Super Famicom, the Japanese version of the SNES, in November 1990. Mario and Luigi travel to Dinosaur Land, where they meet Yoshi for the first time, a friendly green dinosaur who can swallow enemies with his long tongue.
The game has more than 70 levels linked by a large map, with secret exits that open hidden routes. Its bright colors and sound showed off the new console, and it set the standard for 2D Mario games for years to come.
