J-Pedia is a small content site with no accounts and no sign-up. This page explains the limited data collected when you visit, mostly through analytics cookies.

THE SHORT VERSION

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages are popular. Some outbound links are affiliate links. We do not run our own ads, we do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell your data. You can block analytics cookies in your browser at any time.

INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY

Two parties automatically collect limited information when you visit J-Pedia. Google Analytics (GA4) collects the data described under ANALYTICS & COOKIES below. Our hosting provider, Render, keeps short-lived server access logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and operations — see OTHER THIRD-PARTY SERVICES below. We do not run any separate tracking or logging of our own.

ANALYTICS & COOKIES

What we use

We use Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js). It sets cookies (for example _ga and _ga_<id>) to recognise returning browsers with a randomly generated identifier. For Google Analytics specifically, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses (see OTHER THIRD-PARTY SERVICES below for what our hosting provider logs separately).

What it collects

Pages viewed and time on page, an approximate location (country, region, city) derived from your IP address by Google, device and browser type, screen size, and the site or search that referred you. We also send two custom events: page_view (with a normalised section such as culture/food) and affiliate_click (the destination domain, the section, and the product name). None of this identifies you personally, and we only look at it in aggregate.

How to opt out

Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use private/incognito browsing, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google’s handling of the data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

AFFILIATE LINKS

Some links to online stores — for example the Rakuten Affiliate Program and Apple Music / iTunes — are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. When you follow such a link, the destination site may set its own cookies and process your data under its own privacy policy. Affiliate relationships never influence our rankings or opinions. For the full list of partners and how this works, see How We Make Money.

OTHER THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Hosting

The site is hosted on Render (render.com). Like any web host, its servers may keep short-lived logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and operations.

Fonts

We load web fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser requests the font files from Google’s servers, which means Google may receive your IP address and basic request information.

Search Console

We use Google Search Console to see aggregated search terms that lead to the site. This data is anonymous and grouped by Google.

ADVERTISING

We do not currently display third-party advertising. If we add it in the future, we will update this page first to describe the ad provider and any cookies it uses before it goes live.

YOUR CHOICES

You can browse J-Pedia with analytics cookies blocked — the site works the same. If you emailed us, we hold your email address and message only to reply, and you can ask us to delete that thread at any time. We do not build profiles, we do not sell or rent data, and the site is not directed at children.

CHANGES & CONTACT

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top always shows the latest revision, and we will call out anything significant. Questions about privacy? Email muhadmin@gmail.com or see the About & Contact page.
