Gran Turismo is a racing game for the PlayStation created by Kazunori Yamauchi and published by Sony. Its subtitle was "The Real Driving Simulator", and it featured a large lineup of real cars from Japanese and foreign makers, each designed to drive like the real thing.
You earn licenses, win races, buy cars and tune them up in a long career mode. Car culture is strong in Japan, and the game became a huge hit there and around the world, starting a series that continues today.
