ABOUT

Super Mario Bros. is a side-scrolling action game made by Nintendo for the Famicom, the Japanese version of the NES. It was designed by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka. You run and jump through the Mushroom Kingdom, stomp on enemies, grab power-ups like the Super Mushroom, and race to save Princess Peach from Bowser.

In Japan it became a social phenomenon. Children shared secrets such as hidden blocks and warp zones at school, and the game helped the Famicom spread into homes across the country. Its music, composed by Koji Kondo, is still one of the best-known tunes in gaming.
