Breath of the Wild is a Legend of Zelda game released alongside the Nintendo Switch in March 2017, and also on the Wii U. Link wakes up from a long sleep in a ruined Hyrule and is free to go anywhere he can see, climbing cliffs, gliding through the air and cooking meals from what he finds.
The world follows simple rules, like fire spreading across grass and metal attracting lightning, so players can solve problems in their own way. It won many Game of the Year awards and changed how many open-world games are made.
