Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is an upgraded Nintendo Switch version of Mario Kart 8, which first came out on the Wii U in 2014. It includes all the original courses and characters, a new battle mode, and anti-gravity sections where karts drive along walls and ceilings.
Because the Switch can be played on a TV or carried around, and its controllers can be shared between two people, it is easy to race with friends anywhere. Extra courses added later kept it selling for years, and it became one of the best-selling games ever in Japan.
