ABOUT
Pokémon Legends: Arceus takes place in the distant past of the Sinnoh region, when it was called Hisui. Its setting and clothing are inspired by Hokkaido in the Meiji era of the late 1800s, when people from other parts of Japan were settling there. You join a survey team to create the region's first Pokédex.
Instead of mostly battling, you sneak up on wild Pokémon in large open areas and throw Poké Balls by hand. This fresh approach was well received, and it led the way to the open world of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet later the same year.
