[NHK] Koichi Watanabe, a member of the House of Representatives of the Liberal Democratic Party and former mayor of Iwamizawa, Hokkaido, has passed away at the age of 68. Watanabe was first elected mayor of Iwamizawa, Hokkaido in 2002 and served as mayor for about 10 years in 2012.
